Kubera Alternatives: Cheaper Net Worth Trackers Compared
The best Kubera alternative depends on which Kubera feature you use. For free US account sync, Empower covers most of it, and for budgeting plus net worth, Monarch. Wealthfolio is a free, private, investments-only tracker, and European brokers are better served by Finary or getquin. Kubera's $250 a year (Essentials, checked October 2026) pays off when you use two or more of its global bank sync, DeFi crypto tracking and Life Beat beneficiary handoff; entity tracking needs Black at $2,500.
Empower links only US institutions in USD, and Monarch recommends connecting only USD or CAD accounts and doesn't convert between them, so 10,000 CAD plus 10,000 USD shows up as "$20,000". If you hold money in two currencies, Kubera, Wealthfolio, getquin and MFFT convert between them, and for crypto in your own wallets the trackers are Kubera and Finary.
The short answer: which Kubera alternative fits you
All prices are list prices read on each vendor's own page on 21 October 2026.
| Tool | Price per year | How data gets in | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Empower | $0 | Automatic sync, US accounts only | US households who want a free dashboard and can ignore the advisory pitch |
| Monarch | $99.99 Core, $199.99 Plus | Automatic sync, US and Canadian accounts | Budgeting and net worth in one app, shared with a partner |
| Wealthfolio | Free core; Connect from $29 | Manual on your own device, optional broker sync | Private, investments-first tracking with the data kept on your own device |
| Finary | Free (2 accounts) to €149.99 Plus | Automatic sync, EU banks and brokers | Europeans who want Kubera-style automation |
| getquin | Free; Premium €89.99 | Open Banking, re-authorise every 90 days | EU investors who want sync for free |
| Spreadsheet | $0 | Manual, prices via GOOGLEFINANCE | People who want full control and don't mind the upkeep |
| My Financial Freedom Tracker | €49.90, or €299 lifetime | Manual plus PDF/CSV statement import | Multi-currency households happy to update once a month |
| Kubera, for reference | $250 Essentials | Global sync through several aggregators | Large, messy, international balance sheets |
Disclosure: I build the second-to-last one, My Financial Freedom Tracker. It's on the list because it handles several currencies and manual assets well, and it sits near the bottom because it has no bank sync, no crypto wallet sync, no beneficiary handoff, no entities and no sharing with a partner or advisor. The net worth tracker page shows how balances, property and debts come together into one figure.
What you actually pay Kubera for
Kubera sells three plans. Essentials at $250 a year is "everything except what's listed under Black". Black at $2,500 adds ownership tags, nested portfolios and guided onboarding, and Gold at $10,000 adds a named person on top. There's a 14-day trial with every feature switched on, and you pick a plan when it ends.
- Sync breadth. Kubera runs several aggregators (Plaid, Mastercard, Yodlee and MX), and a Web Sync that reads numbers straight off a bank's website when nothing else connects. Its institution list covers banks in the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Austria, Poland and more, plus Interactive Brokers, PayPal and Wise.
- Crypto. "Major blockchains, exchanges, and wallets. DeFi, NFTs, staking, lending", per the homepage, all tracked as live positions.
- Property and things. Live price feeds and an AI appraiser for real estate, vehicles, gold, jewellery and watches.
- Currencies. You can enter any value in any currency code and see it converted.
- Life Beat. After 90 days of inactivity you get a check-in email. With no response after 5 notifications over 10 days, your emergency contact receives all your data and documents as an Excel file and a ZIP, through a link valid for 3 months.
- Sharing. Essentials lets you invite users with full access. Access per portfolio is a Black feature.
Kubera's own homepage calls it "Not a budgeting app", so spending tracking needs a second tool.
At $250 against a $500,000 net worth, that's 0.05% a year, and a 1% advisor on the same money would charge $5,000. So stay on Kubera if you use two or more of these: global bank sync, crypto and DeFi positions, entity tracking (on Black) or the handoff to your family. If you mostly type balances in by hand, or you hold a plain set of US or EU accounts, you're paying for global sync, DeFi tracking and Life Beat without using them.

Sources, all checked 21 October 2026. Empower: international accounts, crypto, home value, additional users, export. Monarch: tracking, households, export. Wealthfolio: brokerages, FAQ, net worth. Finary: wealth tracking, currency, family mode, sharing, export. getquin: Open Banking, currency, real estate, shared access, export. MFFT: net worth tracker, features.
Monarch Plus can help you write a will, but only Kubera hands your family a full export of your accounts when you go quiet for 90 days. For entities, Finary Pro at €349.99 a year handles business accounts and entities, Monarch Plus tracks business income, and the other tools have no entity support, so the workaround is naming accounts after the entity.
For crypto, Empower takes coins as manual entries (you type the coin and the quantity), and getquin's wallet help pages returned an error when checked, so treat its crypto sync as unconfirmed until you've tried it with your own wallet.
What switching costs you over 10 years
Inputs: each plan's annual list price times 10, held flat, with no discounts, promo months or sales tax. Euro prices are converted at the ECB reference rate of 1.1215 USD per euro (20 October 2026). Prices change, so redo the sum with your own renewal price: your annual price × 10.

Data: annual list price × 10 from vendor pricing pages checked 21 Oct 2026 (Kubera, Monarch, Finary, getquin, Wealthfolio, Empower, MFFT); EUR prices converted at ECB 1.1215 USD, 20 Oct 2026.
Kubera Black is left out of the chart: $2,500 × 10 is $25,000. Monarch Plus is the only alternative within about $500 of Kubera over the decade. Paying monthly costs more: Monarch at $14.99 a month comes to $1,798.80 over 10 years against $999.90 billed yearly, and MFFT's €4.99 a month to €598.80 against €499. MFFT's €299 lifetime option is about $335 once and covers manual tracking with no bank sync.
Before you cancel, get your data out of Kubera through the routes it documents: a markdown export of your portfolio and the Data API v3, which can list and export portfolios. Kubera's help centre has no article for a one-click Excel or CSV download, so plan on the markdown file or the API. Once you have the data, account deletion is under Settings > Security > Delete Account. Check the export of whatever you move to as well: getquin doesn't offer any portfolio export, and Finary's documented CSV covers only Finary Invest crypto transactions.
Free Kubera alternatives
Empower Personal Dashboard is completely free and syncs US accounts. Your home value comes from a Zillow Zestimate, updated monthly, and you can add up to 5 other users. Empower sells advisory services alongside the dashboard (Personal Strategy, and Private Client for $1M+), and outside the US it doesn't link at all. For net worth alone, Empower costs nothing, while Monarch's $99.99 a year adds budgeting, vehicle values and a household subscription; neither converts between currencies. Empower vs Monarch compares the two US apps in detail.
Wealthfolio is free and open source, stores everything in a local SQLite database, needs no account and runs on desktop, mobile or self-hosted. The free version is manual: broker sync is the paid Connect add-on, and property, vehicles and debts are always typed in by hand.
Finary Free links just 2 accounts, enough to test the sync.
getquin Free offers "unlimited bank and broker connections". In exchange, Open Banking makes you re-authorise each bank every 90 days, and there's no export.
A spreadsheet costs nothing: GOOGLEFINANCE pulls current prices and exchange rates into Google Sheets for free, and everything else is your typing. How to calculate net worth covers which assets and debts belong in the sheet and how to value them, and net worth trackers without bank linking compares the manual-first tools in more depth.
Kubera alternatives for Europe
Empower and Monarch don't connect European banks.
Finary syncs bank accounts, PEA, life insurance, PER, loans, employee savings and crypto exchanges and wallets, estimates real estate automatically and stores data in Europe. The pricing ladder runs Free, Lite at €54.99, Plus at €149.99 (unlimited access to 20,000 banks and brokers, with a 14-day trial) and Pro at €349.99 for business accounts and entities. The whole account runs in one currency chosen from EUR, USD, CHF, GBP, SGD or CAD, with others on request. A household in Czechia, Poland or Sweden would need to ask for CZK, PLN or SEK.
getquin connects through Open Banking, lets you change the display currency with automatic conversion, and costs €0, €89.99 or €149.99 a year before country-specific taxes. Real estate, cars, art and watches are typed in by hand, and it has shared access for a financial advisor, but no export and unconfirmed crypto sync.
Wealthfolio Connect syncs brokers rather than banks, through SnapTrade across 42+ institutions including DEGIRO, Trading212, AJ Bell and Hargreaves Lansdown (beta). Essentials at $79 a year covers up to 5 connections, and Duo at $129 covers 2 people and 12 connections. Check your broker is on the list before you pay.
My Financial Freedom Tracker is the manual route. It converts between EUR, USD, CZK, GBP and more automatically, imports PDF and CSV bank statements, gives 100+ cryptocurrencies live prices, and takes an optional report-only token from Interactive Brokers, Degiro or Amundi. It has no Plaid, no screen-scraping and no aggregator, so balances arrive when you import or type them. Crypto quantities are manual, there's no beneficiary handoff, no entity structure and no way to share a view with a partner or advisor. It runs in the cloud on EU servers and has a 14-day trial with no free tier.
How to choose in five minutes
- Decide whether you want linking at all. If yes and you're in the US, start with Empower (free) or Monarch (budgeting included). If yes and you're in Europe, start with Finary or getquin. If no, pick Wealthfolio, a spreadsheet or a manual tracker.
- Check your base currency. If everything is in USD, any tool here works. For EUR, GBP or CHF, look at Finary, getquin, Wealthfolio or MFFT, and for CZK, PLN or a mix of three currencies, confirm conversion before you import a single account.
- Look at your crypto share. Kubera tracks self-custody wallets and DeFi positions, and Finary tracks exchanges and wallets. A few coins on an exchange can be typed in by hand in any tool here.
- Decide if you also want a budget. Kubera has no budget. Monarch and Empower do, and if spending is the main job, the budgeting tool comparison and the free YNAB alternatives are better places to start than any net-worth app.
- Count the Kubera features you'd miss. If you use two or more of global sync, DeFi, entities and Life Beat, Kubera's $250 a year buys features the cheaper tools lack; with zero or one, switch to one of the tools above.
If your balance sheet is a few accounts, a pension, a property and a mortgage, a monthly manual update can stand in for the sync that Kubera charges $2,500 a decade for. Export your Kubera data first, then set up a GOOGLEFINANCE spreadsheet or try the manual route free for 14 days with the net worth tracker.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a free alternative to Kubera?
- Yes. Empower's Personal Dashboard is free and syncs US accounts, though it links only US institutions in USD and sells advisory services alongside it. Wealthfolio's core app is free, open source and runs locally, but it is manual unless you pay for Connect. getquin Free offers unlimited Open Banking connections in Europe, and a spreadsheet with GOOGLEFINANCE costs nothing if you type the rest in yourself.
- What is the best Kubera alternative in Europe?
- Finary comes closest: it syncs European banks, brokers, life insurance and crypto wallets, estimates real estate and stores data in Europe, with Plus at €149.99 a year. Its limit is one account currency from six. getquin is cheaper and converts currencies but has no export. If you prefer manual updates across EUR, CZK or GBP, a manual tracker with statement import also works.
- How much does Kubera cost per year?
- Checked on 21 October 2026, Kubera Essentials costs $250 a year and covers everything except the Black features. Black costs $2,500 a year and adds ownership tags for entities, nested portfolios and guided onboarding. Gold costs $10,000 a year. There is a 14-day trial with every feature on. Over ten years, Essentials comes to $2,500 at today's list price.
- Can I export my data from Kubera before switching?
- Yes, through the routes Kubera documents: a markdown export of your portfolio and the Data API v3, which can list and export portfolios. Kubera's help centre has no article for a one-click Excel or CSV download. Export before you cancel, then delete the account under Settings, Security, Delete Account. Check that your new tool can export too, because getquin currently cannot.
- Is Kubera worth it for a normal portfolio?
- Usually not. At $250 a year Kubera is cheap next to a 1% advisor, but you pay for global bank sync, DeFi tracking, entities on Black and the Life Beat handoff to your family. If you use two or more of those, the $250 buys features the cheaper tools lack. If you hold a few US or EU accounts and update balances by hand, Monarch, Finary, Wealthfolio or a manual tracker costs less.
