Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 26 August 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of My Financial Freedom Tracker, a personal finance tracking web application operated by Family Compass s.r.o., IČO: 298 39 556, with its registered office at Nové sady 988/2, Staré Brno, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Regional Court in Brno, Section C, Insert 152886 (the "Operator", "we" or "us").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

My Financial Freedom Tracker is a personal finance management tool that allows you to:

  • Track income and expenses
  • Import bank statements (PDF format)
  • Categorize transactions
  • Set and monitor budgets
  • Track investment accounts and net worth
  • View financial projections and analytics
  • Set financial goals

IMPORTANT: This Service is a personal finance tracking tool only. It does NOT provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or professional financial planning services.

3. Eligibility, Account Registration and Security

You must be at least 15 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, all activities that occur under your account, and notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

4. Financial Disclaimer

THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE.

The Service is designed for personal tracking and informational purposes only. Nothing in this Service constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or professional financial planning.

Any projections, forecasts, or estimates displayed (including net worth projections, investment growth calculations, and budget forecasts) are for illustrative purposes only, based on mathematical calculations, and are NOT guarantees of future performance.

Actual results may differ significantly from any projections shown. You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions.

5. Fees

Use of the full Service requires a paid subscription. The applicable plans and prices are published as set out below. Accounts created before paid plans launched received a founding period of twelve months at no charge; that founding period is closed to new accounts.

Before any charge is taken, the price, the billing period and the way to cancel are presented to you at checkout, and any change to them is announced in advance. The calculators and other tools we publish without an account remain free of charge and are not affected by these plans.

Current and planned plans and prices are published on our Pricing page. Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms and gives consumers a 14-day right to withdraw from a payment and receive a full refund.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. In particular, you must not:

  • Attempt to breach or probe the security of the Service or access other users' data
  • Scrape or bulk-extract data from the Service by automated means
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service or place an unreasonable load on it
  • Upload files containing malicious code
  • Resell, rent out, or sublicense the Service

7. Your Content and License

You retain all rights to the data you upload or enter into the Service (bank statements, transactions, portfolio data, and other content). We claim no ownership of it.

You grant the Operator a limited, non-exclusive license to host and process this data solely to provide the Service to you. The license ends when you delete the data or your account.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account (including all data) in Settings.

The Operator may suspend or terminate your account in the event of a material breach of these Terms, a security risk, or abuse of the Service — with prior notice where reasonably possible. Provisions which by their nature should survive termination (in particular the financial disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) survive it.

9. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or error-free.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, or financial losses resulting from use of or reliance on the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — in particular liability for harm caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or for harm to a person's natural rights.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Operator from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your financial decisions based on Service data.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms. We will announce material changes in advance by e-mail or in the app, together with the date they take effect. If you do not agree with a change, you may stop using the Service and delete your account before that date; continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Governing Law and Consumer Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory legal provisions of your country of residence.

If you are a consumer and a dispute between you and the Operator cannot be resolved directly, you may submit it for out-of-court resolution to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, www.coi.cz). We encourage you to contact our support first — most issues can be resolved quickly.

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 26 August 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how My Financial Freedom Tracker collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information. The data controller (správce osobních údajů) is Family Compass s.r.o., IČO: 298 39 556, with its registered office at Nové sady 988/2, Staré Brno, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Regional Court in Brno, Section C, Insert 152886.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Email, full name, password (encrypted), currency preference
  • Financial Data: Transactions, budgets, investment accounts, net worth snapshots, goals
  • Usage Data: Login timestamps, feature usage, terms acceptance timestamps

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Process and categorize your financial transactions
  • Generate reports, analytics, and projections
  • Secure your account

We process your data on the following legal bases under the GDPR: performance of a contract (providing the Service to you, Art. 6(1)(b)); our legitimate interests (securing the Service, monitoring errors, and privacy-first product analytics, Art. 6(1)(f)); and your consent (optional AI category-guessing and the AI connector, Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties or share your financial data with advertisers.

4. How AI Processes Your Statements

When you upload a bank statement or broker export, its text is sent to a trusted AI provider (currently OpenAI) so it can read the transactions into a clean list. Before anything leaves our systems, personal identifiers such as e-mail addresses, account numbers, IBANs, and national ID (birth) numbers are automatically removed. AI runs only on files you upload (never on data you enter by hand), and the provider does not use your data to train its models. AI category-guessing is off by default.

5. Third-Party Services & Sub-Processors

The only third parties that process your data do so to run the Service. None are advertisers or data brokers, and none sell your data or use it to train their models:

  • Supabase: Database and uploaded-file storage (EU)
  • Railway: Backend application hosting (EU)
  • Vercel: Frontend hosting (EU)
  • AI providers: OpenAI (with Anthropic and Google as fallbacks) — reads uploaded statements and broker exports; OpenAI is the active provider
  • PostHog: Privacy-first product analytics, EU-hosted (IP dropped, no screen recording)
  • Sentry: Error monitoring, to detect and fix problems quickly
  • ZeptoMail: Sends transactional emails such as password resets (EU)

We use PostHog for product analytics on an EU-hosted instance: your IP address is dropped, we never record your screen, financial figures and personal details are scrubbed before anything is stored, and analytics only run once you are signed in.

Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area (notably the AI providers in the United States), the transfer is safeguarded by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use only cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary to sign you in and remember your preferences (such as your session and language). Analytics, as described above, runs only after you sign in, on an EU-hosted instance. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies — which is why you don't see a cookie banner.

7. Data Security

We implement security measures including password hashing (bcrypt), HTTPS encryption, JWT authentication, and database access controls.

8. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (or individual data), it is removed from our live systems immediately and from encrypted backups within 30 days. Connector audit logs are kept for up to 12 months as described below, and we retain minimal operational logs where necessary for security.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Request data portability
  • Request restriction of processing
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent at any time

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech supervisory authority — Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (ÚOOÚ), www.uoou.gov.cz.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account Settings. To request a copy of your data, email us and we'll help.

To exercise these rights, contact: support@myfinancialfreedomtracker.com

10. AI Connector (Model Context Protocol)

You can connect a third-party AI client of your choice (such as Claude by Anthropic or ChatGPT by OpenAI) to your account using the open Model Context Protocol (MCP). This section explains what that involves.

After you connect a client and grant consent, it can access the financial data in your account — transactions and categories, budgets, net-worth accounts and balances, investment holdings and portfolio analysis, properties and mortgages, and your financial-independence (FIRE) plan and its settings. With write access it can also add or categorize transactions, import statement rows you provide, and update your plan and holdings. The connector never exposes account-management actions (it cannot delete your account, change your password or email, or delete categories).

Important: when you use a connected AI client, the data it requests is transmitted to the provider of the client you chose (for example Anthropic for Claude, or OpenAI for ChatGPT), under your own account and that provider's terms and privacy policy. We do not choose that provider for you and we do not control how they process your data. Only connect clients you trust.

To operate the connector we store your consent grants (which client, which scopes, when created and last used) and a security audit log of tool calls (the tool name, a status, and a one-way hash of the arguments — never the raw financial content). Access tokens are short-lived (60 minutes); refresh tokens are stored only as a hash.

Consent grants persist until you revoke them or your account is deleted. Audit-log entries are retained for up to 12 months, and expired or revoked credentials are pruned routinely. Deleting your account removes all connector data.

You approve every connection and choose read-only or read-and-write access. You can review and revoke any connected app at any time from Settings → Connected apps; revocation takes effect immediately.
